Love love loved working with Heather and Sarah for this shoot.  I started out with flash and the 70-200mm lens for this series and ended up switching to the 50mm and natural light only... we had a huge bank of windows to work with and that wonderful soft light was just gorgeous on Heather.  It's interesting that after working with all the fancy and expensive stuff, the beautiful daylight and the small, simple prime lens were the heros of the day.  I think that's gets to the core of what 2012 is about for me... strip away the complexity and get to the simple stuff.  The simple stuff is where it's at! :)

The new Gainesville Photographers group decided to have our first meetup/outing be a natural light portrait shoot at the La Chua trail at Paynes Prairie.  The lovely Heather Jones and dashing Kirill Korytov were our models - they withstood serious wind and even a little cold for us, so we owe them serious thanks!

Let me introduce you to the lovely aspiring model, Eva.  She has a great smile and beautiful eyes - she has an easy beauty about her.  Once you get her smile going, it is huge and just lights up the space around her.  She moved down from Chicago to attend UF.  Join me in wishing her success in all that she does.

So I finally had the time to work through several portrait sessions from workshops in 2010.  I was able to work with some really lovely and sweet girls, so I'm excited to post these!  In other exciting news, I have a shoot today!  Look for the photos to be up over the next few days.
